12th world power in 2008, South Korea is the 5th world producer of cars and the second producer of boats and semiconductors. Since 2001, gross domestic product knows an annual average growth of 4,7%.

Import/Export: Exports represent in 2007: 371,8 billion dollars, in rise of 14,2% compared to 2006. The imports increased by 15,3% to 356,7 billion dollars. South Korea thus posts a commercial surplus of 15,1 billion dollars, constantly exceeding the bar of the 10 billion since 2002. For 2008, the total volume of the exchanges should exceed 800 billion dollars, according to forecasts' of the ministry which counts on a progression of 11, 6% of exports to 415 billion dollars and 12, 7% of the imports to 402 billion dollars.
