Strategic Communication:
Key Factor Behind Successful Policies
With Dr. CHOI Sook-Hee, Research Fellow, Samsung Economic Research Institute
Communication is becoming an increasingly important method that allows for the successful implementation of government policy. In particular, in times of crisis or when pursuing controversial reforms, the outcome of policy initiatives may largely depend on government efforts to consistently persuade interested parties and their ability to effectively induce voluntary participation.
By looking into seven cases among major policies from past Korean administrations which are determined to be positive or failed examples in policy communication, Dr. Sook-Hee CHOI figured out key factors for the success of policies.
Ms. CHOI Sook-Hee, earned a Ph.D in Consumer Economics at Cornell University and currently working as a Research Fellow at Samsung Economics Research Institute after her career at Korea Development Institute. Ms. Choi is an expert in the field of information & consumer economics, public finance and family economics. She published many papers diagnosing society and consumption.
