Located in Tain l’Hermitage, in the heart of the Rhône valley in France, we have been in Tain l’Hermitage ever since Alberic Guironnet first founded La Chocolaterie du Vivarais in 1922; Guironnet’s original chocolate factory is still in use, this is where we make pralinés, bonbons and our white chocolate.

We now also have a second, larger factory on the edge of Tain l’Hermitage. This is where we make our dark and milk chocolate couvertures.

About Valrhona Selection

Valrhona Selection is the mother organization under which Valrhona has regrouped itself along with its recent acquisitions.

The organization aims to provide the “essential premium pastry ingredients to Food Service Professionals (pastry chefs, bakers, restaurants, hotels and caterers) throughout the world”, but also to consolidate our market share across categories and markets.

The Valrhona Selection Brands are Valrhona, Republica Del Cacao, Sosa, Chocolatree, Norohy, Adamance, Pariani. & Weiss.

 

THE POSITION

The Trade Marketing Assistant KR role is to implement the Trade Marketing Strategy in Korea (work with Global, Regional Marketing) by :

  • Assisting the implementation of the Annual Events / Pastry Activities Program (Demos, KAS private Demo, Showroom, Trade Show, Cercle V events, Regional events, etc.,) displaying branding with premium decoration materials (Displays, Totems, kakemonos, trays, etc.,)
  • Supporting adopting & localizing global MKT tools to KR market
  • Developing Selling tools & training materials for our Distributor sales force in order to push our annual innovation launches, promotions, etc.
  • Implementing local marketing activations (Collaborations, Afternoon teas, etc)
  • Supporting the Brand Manager with market Analysis (Trends, Pricing Mapping, Competition monitoring, Sell out).

 

His / Her main missions will be:

Reporting to the Brand Manager KR:

1/ Marketing Planning & Strategy

  • Assist Brand Manager to define KR Trade Marketing plan (yearly & long-term)
  • Assist Brand Manager to define local annual Trade Marketing plan for Korea
  • Assist Brand Manager to forecast, record & report KR Trade MKT budget
  • Analysis to implement targeted marketing strategies (Sell out Reports, assortment recommendation, category management etc..)
  • Assist to align plans with new brands

 

2/ Marketing Communication

  • Assist Brand Manager to define KR strategy & planning (yearly & long-term)
  • Assist Brand Manager / Digital MKT specialist with Social Media communication
  • Adapt & diffuse product news & brand contents internally to KR team & externally to local distributor
  • Provide regular reports and updates to management on the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and strategies

 

3/ Marketing Loyalty Program

  • Collaborate with Brand Manager to design KR Cercle V Program strategy & planning
  • Assist to design/define/adapt our annual loyalty program content (Communication tools, gifts, scheme)
  • Work hand-in-hand with BDs & distributor on the ‘operational’ aspect of the program (eg. Briefing, arrangement of deliveries, etc.,)
  • Collaborate with Brand Manager & BD on the execution of the program and active follow-up of members’ questions & requests
  • Assist to evaluate annual performance of the program (ROI, business impact) and issue recommendations to improve it

 

4/ Marketing Support – Commercial & Pastry Activities

  • Work with global and local teams to develop and execute marketing campaigns, promotions, and events that maximize the visibility of our event.
  • Assist to localize global MKT tools adopted to KR market
  • Assist & jointly supported by Brand Manager, develop & adapt marketing/ sales/ communication/ decoration tools for below use:
  1. Sales tools (Sales books, product descriptions, marketing sheets, etc) for ‘daily’ commercial actions
  2. 360° Annual launch of the year (adapt & develop tools for annual launch event with Brand Manager & KR chefs, work hand-in-hand with them & BDs for communication of info, event organization, logistic issues, etc)
  3. Promotions carried out in KR (flyers, newsletters, recipe layouts, specific booklets, gift ordering, gift development, etc)
  4. Trade shows in the country (ex. Cafe show, Bakery show)
  5. Pastry activities in the country (MKT display, Recipe book, Collaboration, etc.,)
  6. Sponsoring events in the country
  7. Training to Sales
  8. Competition Intelligence/ competitor survey/Market monitoring
  9. Pricing Recommendations

 

5/ Trade Marketing – Product information

  • Adapt & diffuse product news (arrival of new products, change of recipes or packaging, discontinuation, flash info, etc) & latest brand news to KR team & distributors
  • Respond to BD & distributor on product/tools enquiries
  • (if possible) monthly customer visit to know more on field feedback

 

What you will need:

Marketing / Trade Marketing acumen

  • Strong understanding of the marketing mix (Product launches, Pricing, Promotions, Digital, Events, Customer loyalty programs, Competition monitoring, etc…)
  • Strong understanding of the pastry environment (chefs, customers: hotels, restaurants, pastry studios, pastries & bakeries, etc…)

 

Operate with Discipline

  • Be extremely well organized in order to stick with the deadlines for sharing the reports to KR team
  • Priority Setting: be capable to evaluate the priority / importance of the duties in order to focus first on the most relevant priorities while managing expectations from managers / the team
  • Time Management: allocate the right timing to the right task and be proactive with direct managers when help Is requested

  • Work directly with Distributors in order to share all the relevant information (new products, brand news) and answer any enquiries
  • Understand Distributors and Sales Force constraints in order to help to develop relevant selling / recipes tools

Ideal Qualification

  • Fluent in English, Korean both spoken and written
  • French speaking / understanding is a plus
  • Relevant experience in Marketing & Trade Marketing
  • Proficient on Excel, Word, PPT. Knowledge of Indesign and Ilustrator is a plus.
