K-Beauty: France as a Gateway to the European Market

On October 22, 2026, the FKCCI brought together experts in beauty, regulatory affairs, and intellectual property in Osong to help Korean brands navigate their expansion into France and Europe.
How can Korean beauty brands appeal to French consumers? Which regulatory requirements should they anticipate? How can they protect their brand before entering a new market? These questions were at the heart of “France as a Gateway to Europe for K-Beauty Brands,” a conference organized by the French-Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) during Cosmetic & Beauty Expo Osong Korea 2026, at the OSCO Cheongju Osong Convention Center.
For K-Beauty brands looking to expand into Europe, product quality and innovation come with practical challenges: understanding consumer habits, preparing for regulatory compliance, and protecting intellectual property. The conference explored these key steps while highlighting France’s role as an entry point to the European market.
Complementary Perspectives on European Expansion
In her opening presentation, Sonia Chaïeb Kim, CEO of the FKCCI, outlined the opportunities France offers Korean beauty companies seeking to enter the European market.
Yaël Gozlan, Founder & CEO of NÜD, then explored French consumer expectations and K-Beauty market trends. His presentation highlighted the importance of adapting a brand’s approach to the specific characteristics of its target market.
Aurore Bouteille, Founder & CEO of KAHNG, addressed the main EU regulatory requirements for cosmetics, an essential step in preparing to bring products to the European market.
Finally, Seowon Park, Patent & Trademark Attorney at Plasseraud IP, discussed brand and intellectual property protection as a foundation for long-term international growth.
Turning Opportunities into a Market Entry Strategy
The conference concluded with a panel discussion and Q&A session featuring all speakers. This exchange brought together their complementary expertise and explored the challenges Korean brands face when expanding into Europe.
Through this event, the FKCCI continues its mission of connecting the French and Korean business ecosystems and supporting companies in their international development.
