Busan Metropolitan City

Located in the southeast of the Korean Peninsula, Busan has served as a gateway to the world since it opened as an international port in 1876. A major link between the Pacific Ocean and the Eurasian continent, Busan has also become a leading logistics hub. It ranks as the world’s fifth-largest container port and is South Korea’s second-largest city.

Jeju Chamber of Commerce and Industry

Jeju Island, also known as the “Hawaii of Korea,” has experienced remarkable growth in recent years. With 660,000 residents and 15 million visitors annually, it has become a major economic and cultural hub in South Korea. Jeju is also a leader in green growth initiatives, having developed the country’s first smart grid testbed and boasting the highest number of electric vehicles per capita. The island also has the highest concentration of museums per square kilometre.

Daegu Metropolitan City

Located in Gyeongbuk Province in the southeast of the Korean Peninsula, Daegu is South Korea’s third-largest city, with a population of 2.5 million. Ranked 11th nationally in terms of regional GDP in 2017, it is a major economic and industrial hub, particularly in the fashion, electronics, machinery, steel and high-tech sectors.

COEX

The COEX Convention & Exhibition Center in Seoul is South Korea’s leading business and cultural hub. Located in the heart of Gangnam’s business district, it is surrounded by five-star hotels, a major shopping centre and an extensive transport network connecting it to the rest of the city.

COEX hosts international exhibitions and conventions while promoting the development of trade and the exhibition industry.

The Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) is a multifunctional association representing Korea’s domestic industries. KCCI (Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry)

The KCCI is South Korea’s largest private economic organization, bringing together 71 regional chambers and approximately 135,000 members from various business sectors. KITA brings together numerous Korean economic organizations and has nearly 70,000 member companies, representing almost the entire international trading community in South Korea.

Embassy of France in Korea and Its Various Departments

Economic Department

The Economic Department of the Embassy of France is an overseas department of the French Ministry of Economy and Finance, under the Directorate General of the Treasury. Operating under the authority of the Ambassador, its missions include strengthening bilateral relations with the Korean authorities in economic and financial matters; carrying out initiatives requested by the French authorities to present, explain and defend France’s positions to local authorities; and analysing South Korea’s economic and financial situation and policies on behalf of the French authorities.

Energy and New Technologies Department

The Energy and New Technologies Department is an overseas department of the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA), operating under the authority of the Ambassador.
