Michelin delivers ‘Michelin Star Heart Lunch Box’ to COVID-19 Medical Staffs and Elderly
27 Michelin Star Restaurants Prepared total 1,500 Lunch Boxes for 3 days
Michelin, together with 27 Michelin star restaurants, has delivered 1,500 lunch boxes to medical staffs at designated hospitals for COVID-19 and elderly through Senior Centers in Seoul.
The project named ‘Michelin Star Heart Lunch Box’ is initiated by Michelin to show appreciation to medical staffs and to overcome the difficult situation together fighting against COVID-19 at forefront. 27 restaurants out of 31 Michelin star restaurants selected in Michelin Guide Seoul 2020 have voluntarily joined the project and shared their talents.
Each restaurant prepared its own menu for the lunch box with special letters and in cooperation with Seoul Metropolitan City Office, the they were delivered to 5 COVID-19 field hospitals and elderly via Seoul City Office’s welfare and care service network.
“Michelin would like to express sincere appreciations to 27 star restaurants, Seoul Metropolitan Government and related organizations who made this lunch box sharing possible. ‘Michelin Star Heart Lunch Box’ project represents sincere appreciations of our community for medical staffs who are highly committed to the COVID-19 crisis while encouraging elderly having difficult times during this period”, says Juheang Lee, Managing Director of Michelin Korea
Mi-ran Moon, Vice Mayor of Administrative Affairs in Seoul Metropolitan City Government, says “We are pleased to join the opportunity of sharing appreciations to medical staffs and hope to neighbors in need. The Seoul Metropolitan City will continue to support citizen’s voluntary charity programs to help our local society and vulnerable neighbors.”
Employees of Michelin Korea also joined the lunchbox delivery as volunteer for 1,100 medical staffs in 5 hospitals and 400 elderly in Seoul area.
