Energy Committee Highlights Key Trends Shaping Korea’s Energy Transition

On Wednesday, July 8, the FKCCI Energy Committee brought together members of the French-Korean business community for a discussion on the latest developments impacting Korea’s energy sector. The session was opened by Vincent Boulanger, President of the FKCCI Energy Committee and CEO of EDF Renewables Korea, who welcomed participants and highlighted the importance of continued dialogue and cooperation as France and Korea navigate the challenges of the energy transition.
The session then featured a presentation by Yunsik Chung, Research Analyst at Wood Mackenzie, who shared insights into current market dynamics, energy demand outlooks, and the evolving policy environment. Participants explored how ongoing industrial developments, technological advancements, and energy transition objectives are reshaping the country's power landscape and creating new opportunities across the sector.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss key topics such as energy security, infrastructure development, renewable energy deployment, grid flexibility, and the long-term outlook for Korea’s electricity market. These discussions highlighted both the challenges and opportunities facing businesses as the country continues its transition toward a more sustainable and resilient energy system.
As always, the committee served as a valuable platform for knowledge sharing, networking, and dialogue among leading French and Korean energy stakeholders. Through regular exchanges, the FKCCI Energy Committee continues to support cooperation between both countries and contribute to discussions on the future of energy and green growth.
The FKCCI extends its sincere thanks to all participants for their active contributions and looks forward to welcoming members to future committee meetings.
