FDI cash grant conditions in Korea - Kotra - Foreign Investor Support Center

On July 17, David-Pierre Jalicon, FKCCI Chairman and Cédric Legrand, FKCCI Managing Director, met with Mr Park Dae Hyu, newly appointed as the Head of the Foreign Investor Support Center (FISC) of KOTRA.

KOTRA is the Korean governmental agency established in 1962 to contribute to the development of the national economy  by performing work such as trade promotion, investment between domestic and foreign companies and support of industrial technology cooperation etc.

The meeting was the opportunity for the French-Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry to reinforce its relationship with the Korean institution to discuss ways to support at best foreign investors in Korea and share about encountered issues by French investors in Korea. Indeed, the Foreign Investor Support Center can provide administrative services such as D-8 visa applications and company registration. The Head of the FISC also presented a guide to FDI cash grant with details on eligibility, amounts, screening process and legal usage. In this framework, investment with large-scale job creation, in key growth engines in R&D, or out of Seoul are encouraged for example.
