FKCCI and KGCCI held the European Career Forum 2022

From May 16th to 20th, FKCCI and KGCCI held the European Career Forum that gathered more than 120 job opportunities and 600 job seekers.

Recruitment processes are often a long and complex quest for both companies and candidates. In order to alleviate this problem and provide matchmaking opportunities for global talents and innovative companies in Korea, FKCCI and its German counterpart, KGCCI, co-organized the first virtual European Career Forum 2022, from May 16th to May 20th, 2022.

On this occasion, more than 45 world-renowned companies across all sectors, including Luxury Business Group, BASF, Accor, Dassault Systemes, Henkel, Mercedes-Benz, Nokia, Renault Motors, and TotalEnergies participated in the forum to present career opportunities with 127 job offers to 600 talents.

At the Grand Opening session on May 16, 2022, in presence of H.E. Philippe Lefort, French Ambassador to Korea, H.E. Michael Reiffenstuel, German Ambassador to Korea, and H.E Maria Castillo-Fernandez, EU Ambassador to Korea, participants learned about market and recruiting trends among European-invested companies in Korea. “The Career Forum is a very good initiative for all our young people. It is a great follow-up to Europe Day on which we celebrate a unique union of 27 countries based on universal and democratic values that have brought prosperity for 72 years.”, said H.E Maria Castillo-Fernandez.

As the event was designed to connect innovative companies in Korea with globally minded talents and job seekers interested in boosting their careers, FKCCI Chairman Mr. David-Pierre Jalicon underlined: "In the post-Covid era, this forum reflects well the recovery of the job market and the growing attractivity of global companies. French companies alone employ 26,000 talents in Korea". Dr. Martin Henkelmann, CEO & President of KGCCI, added: "Germany and Korea offer an excellent ecosystem to foster innovation. A key driver for innovation are smart people. This Career Forum aims to connect smart people with smart companies to drive innovation to the next level".

With 12 partners including the French Embassy, Embassies from Europe, Germany and Belgium, and Chambers of Commerce from Belgium, Finland, Italy, Spain, and Sweden, the European Career Forum 2022 was held fully online on the job dating platform Seekube. The event featured more than 40 live sessions including companies’ presentations and training sessions by HR specialists who advised job seekers on how to boost their career.

Daniel Mayran, founder and CEO of Luxury Business Group (LBG), a leading exhibitor as a global consulting company specialized in the luxury and retail industries, said, “To not miss the lead in fierce market competition, securing talent in various fields is essential. The Career Forum provides an excellent opportunity for many of our partners and a great platform to discover true talents. In the last two years, LBG has accelerated its headhunting and talent acquisition activities to support leading luxury brands, hotel chains, and other companies to hire and nurture their new generation of talents.”
