France is the guest of honor of the Cheongju Craft Biennale

France is the guest of honor at the 2021 edition of the Cheongju Craft Biennale, from September 8 to October 17. Ateliers d'Art de France is presenting more than 180 pieces by 35 artists, in a 730m2 exhibition.

Deployed in a unique location, a rehabilitated former tobacco factory, the Cheongju Biennale is a highlight for the arts and crafts sector on an international scale. Bringing together more than 3,000 artists from 60 countries, it offers this year a rich program: a fair, an international competition, a series of conferences, original projects from the Cheongju museum as well as masterclasses. France is the guest of honor for the first time.

The vast exhibition space dedicated to contemporary French craftsmanship hosts the works of 35 creators with exceptional know-how. Sculptures, murals and contemporary installations sometimes play on line, material, color, space or form, in a resolutely contemporary way. Ceramic, wood, lacquer, textile, feather, steel, straw marquetry, paper, felt, silicone: a wide range of materials reveals the diversity and vitality of the French art workshops.
