General Assembly & French Business Awards 2022
On April 13th, FKCCI held its General Assembly and the French Business Awards Ceremony at the Fairmont Ambassador Seoul to celebrate outstanding achievements of the French-Korean business community under the patronage of our special guest Mr. Won Tae CHO, Chairman and CEO of Hanjin Group and Korean Air, who has made a great contribution to the French-Korean relations. More than 100 members of FKCCI participated at the General Assembly.
General Assembly
The General Assembly was the occasion for the FKCCI to share main highlights of its activities in the past year to its members. Today, FKCCI has 439 members, which makes it the 3rd largest foreign chamber in Korea. It ranked 8th by total revenue, and 5th by business revenue among CCI French International worldwide. With its growing influence, FKCCI better defends interests and advocates members’ issues with Korean authorities on various topics such as global supply chain, certification, and visas. The increasing attractivity of FKCCI shows that our activities and services meet the needs of the French Korean business community. For the upcoming years, FKCCI will further strengthen partnerships to extend network opportunities for members, and enforce new services developed during the Covid-19 outbreak and welcome more business delegations from France.
After a welcoming speech of Mr. David-Pierre JALICON, Chairman of FKCCI, Mr. Cedric LEGRAND, CEO of FKCCI, shared a Yearly Activity Report, which was followed by a Yearly Financial Report by Mr. Philippe NOIROT, Vice-President and Treasurer of FKCCI, CEO of BNP Paribas S.A., Seoul Branch.
Among 15 seats at the FKCCI Board, 6 Board members were elected or relected:

- Mr. Stéphane DEBLAISE, CEO at Renault Korea Motors
- Mr. Patrice DEVEMY, Representative Director & CEO at S-OIL TotalEnergies Lubricants

- Mr. Gérald MASSENET, Senior Country Officer at Crédit Agricole CIB
- Mr. Daniel MAYRAN, Chairman at Blubell Korea / Founder & President at LBG
French Business Awards Ceremony
Every year, FKCCI and hundreds of French and Korean companies work on bringing both countries together through innovation and business. In 2020 and 2021, these efforts allowed more than ever the French-Korean business community to adapt, improve and grow despite the sanitary crisis.
To celebrate these companies’ achievements and recognize their most remarkable actions, FKCCI held the French Business Awards 2022 ceremony following its General Assembly.
The event opened with a speech from Mr. David-Pierre JALICON, Chairman of FKCCI, who presented his vision for 2022 and commended on “stability and agility” of both FKCCI’s teams and companies demonstrated during the pandemic. It was followed by congratulatory speeches from Mr. Philippe LEFORT, H.E. Ambassador of France in Korea, who congratulated many “inspiring success stories of French companies in Korea and Korean companies in France”, and our special guest, Mr. Won-Tae Cho, Chairman and CEO of Hanjin Group and Korean Air, who acknowledged the “passionate efforts” of the French-Korean business community.
Six companies were awarded for their outstanding achievements during the ceremony:
- Best Startup Award: Aryballe
- Best French Entrepreneur in Korea: The Ranch Brewing Company
- Best Export Performance Award: Thales Korea
- Corporate Social Responsibility Award: Bluebell Korea
- Best Korean Establishment in France: SPC Paris Croissant
- Best French Korean Partnership Award: Accor Ambassador Korea
