Hanwha Solutions Corp. strengthens its presence on the French renewable energy market

Q Cells, Hanwha Solutions Corp.’s renewable energy division, recently won French Energy Regulatory Commission’s tender to build a solar farm expected to generate 37.7 megawatts of electricity per year, enough to meet the annual needs of 20,000 people. The acquisition will make Q Cells' current solar capacity rise to 15 GW.

This tender, a part of French strategy to replace Russian gas in the context of the Ukrainian conflict, is an opportunity for Hanwha to strengthen its presence on the European continent, as the company has been seeking to do so since 2018. Last year, it had already provided Gien (France) 55 MW solar park with solar modules, receiving on this occasion the low carbon footprint certification.
