Leadership in the Age of AI: Insights from the FKCCI & ESSEC Masterclass
The French-Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI), in partnership with ESSEC Business School Executive Education, successfully hosted its Masterclass & Networking Evening at THE PLAZA Seoul, gathering around 110 executives, academics, and professionals from the French-Korean business community.
Dedicated to “Leadership in the Age of AI: Decision-Making, Adaptation & Competitive Dynamics”, the event brought together academic expertise and business perspectives to explore how artificial intelligence is reshaping leadership and organizational strategies in an increasingly complex and technology-driven environment.
The masterclass, led by Professor Julien Salanave, Professor at ESSEC Business School and Director of the ESSEC-Mannheim EMBA APAC, invited participants to look beyond a purely technological view of AI. He emphasized the need for leaders to understand how AI is transforming organizations as a whole, from workflows to decision-making processes, and to approach it as an adaptive challenge requiring new ways of thinking and leading.
The roundtable discussion, moderated by Professor Julien Salanave, brought together Professor Hyo Kang, Associate Professor at Seoul National University, and SooYoun Chang, CEO of Preventotics Inc. and Adjunct Professor at Korea University. The discussion explored how AI is reshaping leadership and organizations, highlighting the need for companies to rethink workflows, team structures, and decision-making models. Speakers also emphasized the importance for leaders to actively engage with AI tools to better understand their impact and guide their teams through ongoing transformation.
The roundtable also offered valuable perspectives on the application of AI in the healthcare sector. Drawing on entrepreneurial and academic experience, speakers highlighted the growing role of AI in diagnostics, medical technologies, and innovation-driven healthcare solutions, while underlining the importance of combining technological progress with expertise and appropriate regulatory frameworks.
By combining academic insights, real-world perspectives, and interactive discussions, the event offered participants practical guidance on navigating leadership in the age of AI. The evening concluded with a networking cocktail, providing an opportunity for attendees to exchange ideas, strengthen connections, and engage further within the French-Korean business community.
