The French-Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) and Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA)  invite you to the FKCCI x KOTRA Business+ Forum taking place at Andaz Seoul Gangnam on October 26th, supported by 17 foreign chambers.

In today’s world, signs of climate change are becoming undeniable and increasingly impacting lives, adding to the urgency and opportunities of a sustainable energy transition. As we recognize the pivotal role of AI in shaping a sustainable future in this era of rapid technological advancement and digital transformation, we are proud to present this forum on "Energy Transition in the Age of Artificial Intelligence”.

Our esteemed guest speakers, Jean-Claude MASY, Head of the Energy and New Technologies Department at the French Embassy in South Korea, Dr. Imai JEN-LA PLANTE, Principal Data Scientist at the Green Climate Fund(GCF), and Dr. Woong Tae CHUNG, Head of the International Energy Cooperation Center at the Korea Energy Economics Institute (KEEI), will offer valuable insights into Korea's ambitious energy transition and carbon neutrality goals and explore the impact of France's green energy policy on making the country one of Europe's lowest emitters of carbon dioxide. In addition, they will explore the role of AI in shaping a sustainable future and demonstrate how the energy industry can collaborate with this technology to foster innovative solutions.

Jean-Claude MASY

Head of the Energy and New Technologies Department at the French Embassy in South Korea

Jean-Claude MASY is nuclear counsellor and head of the energy and new technologies service at the French Embassy. Before coming to South Korea, he spent 25 years at the CEA (the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission), a key player in France in research on low-carbon energies (nuclear and renewable energies), basic sciences , life sciences and defense and security research.

 

 

 

Imai JEN-LA PLANTE

Principal Data Scientist at the Green Climate Fund

Dr. Imai JEN-LA PLANTE earned a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Chicago and is currently Principal Data Scientist at the Green Climate Fund(GCF), the world’s largest climate fund, headquartered in Korea. She combines a passion for innovation and technology with experience in both the public and private sectors, and previously worked as Chief Innovation Officer at a Swiss financial services firm and Senior Manager for a global technology company. Having lived in 6 countries across 3 continents, she is committed to solutions that leverage international collaboration and partnerships.

 

Woong Tae CHUNG

Head of the international energy cooperation center of KEEI

Dr. Woong Tae CHUNG is a Senior Research Fellow at the Korea Energy Economics Institute (KEEI) and has been Director of the Center for International Energy Cooperation (CIEC) since 2018. His expertise lies in international energy cooperation, low-carbon energy development, and the impact of foreign policy on the energy sector. He holds an M.A. and a Ph.D. from the University of Colorado, Boulder, USA, and has published extensively on these topics.
