Historically, foreign policy has always been of primary importance to Korea. As Korea has become a global trade hub and a technological powerhouse, the country has adjusted its international strategy. Korea has started to take a more important role on the global scene, such as taking part in the CPTPP (Trans-Pacific Partnership) or the recent participation of President Yoon Suk-yeol at the NATO summit. With the new administration, we may expect new directions in key aspects of the Korean foreign policy including a stronger stance on North Korea, and the reinforcement of strategic relations with the US, Japan and Europe.
 

This luncheon will be a unique occasion for members of our European business community to exchange with the Minister of Foreign Affairs on key topics of the Korean foreign policy, with a focus on the future of relations between Europe and the region.

MAIN SPEAKER

Dr. Park Jin is a four-term member of the National Assembly who serves as Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Yoon Suk-yeol government since May 2022. He was previously chairman of the Foreign Affairs, Trade and Unification Committee of the National Assembly and Head of the ROK-US Policy Consultation Delegation in the 20th Presidential Transition Committee.
