The fund will invest in high-growth sectors including artificial intelligence, semiconductors, robotics, defense, and biotechnology, with investments guided by profitability, stability, and public interest.
Backed by major state-owned financial institutions, the initiative aims to channel public capital into sectors with strong long-term economic potential. Investment returns will either be reinvested or transferred to the national treasury.
Through this new fund, South Korea seeks to reinforce its competitiveness in advanced technologies while building a stronger foundation for long-term growth and innovation.
