Strengthening Bilateral Ties: FKCCI Meets with KITA to Explore Strategic Collaboration
On August 7th, 2025, Mr. David-Pierre Jalicon, Chairman of the French-Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI), and Ms. Sonia Chaieb-Kim, CEO, visited the headquarters of the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) to meet with Mr. Inho Lee, Vice Chairman of KITA, and Mr. Seung-Won Han, Director. This high-level meeting reaffirmed FKCCI’s commitment to greater engagement with Korean institutions and deepened the foundations for future cooperation.
A key focus was the strategic survey led by Team France Korea (FKCCI, French Embassy, Business France, and CCE), aimed at mapping the multiform presence and integration of French companies in Korea’s value chains. By identifying current strengths, gaps, and opportunities—particularly in emerging sectors such as AI, biotech, quantum, sustainability and space—this initiative seeks to inform future strategies and strengthen France-Korea cooperation.
Mr. Jalicon and Mr. Lee expressed a shared vision: that France and Korea must engage on equal footing, and that our ecosystems should become more inclusive—an approach that would be mutually beneficial. Both sides committed to jointly strengthening reciprocal value chains and working together to shape a common future through joint events next year, especially as the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between France and Korea will be celebrated in 2026, and the FKCCI’s 40th anniversary draw near.
