ICC Immersion – South Korea

ICC Immersion - South Korea Program

Recent years have seen the Cultural and Creative Industries grow increasingly innovative and future-oriented through media such as webtoons, movies, dramas, video games, VR, performing arts, music, etc.; and become leaders of Korea and France’s economic growth. To answer the field’s rising challenges, the French Ministry of Culture, Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Economics and Finance, and French government agency Business France launched the “ICC Immersion” Program, designed to help French ICC structures discover the vibrant Korean market.

Fifteen companies were selected to participate in the program and will meet with the public at contemporary art center Platform L, from February 1st to 3rd:

Albin Michel
Publishing, Webtoon
Albin Michel is an independent French publishing company founded in 1902. From the very beginning, it has been publishing worldwide famous authors of literature such as Romain Rolland, Mary Higgins Clark, Amélie Nothomb, Stephen King, Bernard Weber, and Maxime Chattam. In 2023, Albin Michel is launching its Webtoon/KBooks imprint, to propose to the young Adult public a large range of stories coming from the Webtoon universe.

Beyond stories
Webtoon, IP Extension
Beyond Stories is a creative studio based on Reunion Island specializing in book adaptation and Intellectual Property (IPs) development. Beyond Stories holds the rights to several books written by Reunionese authors and works together with them to adapt their stories and develop their IPs.

Dreamcities
Cultural Heritage, XR
Based on a unique virtual reality cultural experience, this comprehensive project targets a wide audience, and enables their visitors to virtually explore and experience -in space and in real time- the heritage resources of a city or a district.

France Muséums Développement
Museology, Cultural Heritage, Cultural Engineering
France Muséums assists museums and heritage sites in their transformation by mobilizing, in France and abroad, a unique know-how and network. Their story began in 2007 with an extraordinary collective adventure: the birth of the first universal museum of the 21st century in the Arab world, the Louvre Abu Dhabi.

Hatinh Interactive
Game, Web3, Marketing
Deeptech Startup founded in 2020, created and supported by experts in the video game industry, Hatinh Intelligence develops a market intelligence solution dedicated to Web3 games and to influencers and content creators.

Histovery
Museology, Cultural Heritage, AR
Histovery has been developing the “HistoPad”, an augmented visit on a digital tablet since 2013. The “HistoPad” enables the general public to rediscover the wealth of cultural heritage via interactive technologies which are spectacular and accessible to all.

Ikimasho
Game, VR
Paris-based VR video game development studio founded in 2017, Ikimasho released their first game, “Star Shaman”, in 2020 and won two Raindance nominations (Best Debut and Best Music). They are currently working with Sony Interactive Entertainment on their second game “Tiger Blade”, which is an homage to Korean action cinema and is a launch title for Sony’s new VR headset, the PlayStation VR 2.

InCahoots Production
Museology, Cultural Heritage, VR
Created in 2019 by Justine Llorca, the stakes carried by InCahoots Production come from an issue encountered by Justine daily. Although she is an art history and heritage buildings lover, by being in a wheelchair she is often forced to remain on the ground floor during her visits. The company produces virtual and interactive tours for cultural monuments, thanks to immersive technologies, in order to make them accessible for all.

Lucid Realities

Lucid Realities is an immersive and interactive production and distribution company based in Paris, co-founded by Chloé Jarry and François Bertrand. The projects powered by Lucid Realities are designed to foreshadow the future of the XR industry and innovate ways to produce and distribute XR experiences.

MAKMA
Webtoon, Graphic Design
The core of MAKMA’s activity lies in all the professions related to the creation and adaptation (transformation from one language to another while updating graphic elements) of comics, physical and digital Faced with demand, two services have recently been set up: printoonisation and webtoonisation.

Beaux Arts Consulting is a cultural engineering agency that supports cultural actors, companies and institutions in their innovation and artistic strategies in France and abroad.

Philharmonie des enfants

The Children's Philharmonie is a new play area dedicated to the discovery of sound and music for children aged 4 to 10. This new permanent place of 1000m² opened its doors in September 2021 on the first floor of the Philharmonie de Paris and welcomes audiences from all walks of life in a family, school or association setting. This inter-generational course is thought of as a vector of socialization in which children and adults are encouraged to cooperate and interact.

Pianity is a music NFT platform – built on environmentally-conscious Arweave technology — where musicians and their community gather to create, sell, buy and collect songs in limited editions. Pianity’s pioneering approach, which includes free listening for all, enables deeper connections between artists and their audience.

VRTUOZ
XR, NFT, Metaverse, Performances, Events
The activity is based on the production of solutions and contents in virtual reality and augmented reality. Since 2015, VRTUOZ have been developing the VRTUOZ platform, which allows users to be gathered as avatars in immersive content and to interact in real time. They work with artists, their fan communities, and performing arts companies to respond to the specific needs of the sector.

WTPL Music
Music, Digital Solution, Sync
WTPL Music is a music rights management company evolving in an ecosystem allowing synergies with music publishing, phonographic production, audiovisual post-production, and placement of recorded music (Cinema, TV, Series, Platforms, Video Games , Advertising, etc.).

 


 

Program

From February 1st to 3rd, the public will be able to partake in conferences and roundtables, and to discover several cultural and creative industries-themed demonstration booths and exhibition spaces. Subjects such as innovation, the cultural sector, and the future of the field, will be discussed over the three days of the event.
