Conference on Gender Equality & Women's Empowerment

The French-Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI), in collaboration with the French Embassy in the Republic of Korea and UN Women, is pleased to organize a conference dedicated to Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.

This event aims to bring together business leaders, institutional representatives, and experts to continue the dialogue on advancing gender equality in the workplace and promoting more inclusive and sustainable professional environments in Korea.

As demographic, social, and economic transformations continue to reshape the Korean labor market, ensuring equal opportunities for women and strengthening inclusive leadership have become key priorities for both public and private sector stakeholders.

This conference will provide a platform to exchange perspectives, highlight best practices from companies operating in Korea, and explore concrete initiatives that can foster more balanced and equitable workplaces.

WHY ORGANIZE THIS EVENT?

Despite ongoing policy efforts and increasing awareness, gender disparities remain a significant challenge in South Korea. The country continues to record one of the largest gender pay gaps among OECD economies, while structural barriers still affect women’s career progression and representation in leadership positions.

At the same time, companies are increasingly recognizing that gender equality is not only a social issue but also a strategic business priority. Diverse and inclusive workplaces contribute to stronger innovation, improved organizational performance, and more sustainable long-term growth.

This event seeks to encourage constructive dialogue between institutions and businesses, while sharing practical experiences and strategies that support gender equality within organizations.
