FKCCI featured in KTV's special broadcast on COVID-19 and the Korean Economy

David-Pierre Jalicon, chairman of the FKCCI, attended an interview on May 9, 2021 as part of a KTV documentary on COVID-19 and the Korean Economy

David-Pierre Jalicon, chairman of the French-Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI), attended an interview on May 9, 2021 as part of a special KTV documentary on "COVID-19 and the Korean Economy".

Korea's exports exceeded $50 billion in March after being on the rise for five consecutive months. The Korean GDP is also expected to reach the 9th rank worldwide for the first time in history, with most of its economic indicators heading in the right direction despite COVID-19. As part of this documentary on the well performing Korean economy amid the crisis, David-Pierre Jalicon, also entrepreneur in Korea, was interviewed on the strengths and expectations of companies and investors in the Korean economic environment.

He explained that in March 2020, when the pandemic just started and the international situation was quickly deteriorating, it was very difficult to maintain business continuity in France due to the lockdown. However, the situation was very different in Korea, as the government’s quick response allowed French companies in Korea to maintain their activities without any major damage.

In this context, the French-Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry released its bilingual French-Korean magazine Corée Affaires n.108 focusing on the COVID-19 crisis, to provide advices and insights to French companies in Korea. This edition included testimonies of companies responding to the crisis and what support measures the government has come up with to help companies.
