[UPDATE - COVID-19] Entry conditions in France from South Korea

France is imposing a negative screening test for the coronavirus for all travelers coming from countries outside Europe.

From February 12th, 2022, France relaxed entry rules requiring negative screening test for the coronavirus for all travelers entering France:

  • Travelers who have a valid vaccine pass recognized by the EU don't have to submit a negative Covid test before entry anymore.
  • Non-vaccinated travelers still need a a negative test be performed less than 48 hours departure. Those who come from "Green" countries don't need to do self-isolation after arrival.
  • Non-vaccinated travelers coming from an "Orange" country still need to have an imperative reason to travel.

List of countries per risk

As of Dec 20:

  • "Green" countries are considered as safe and include among others the EU, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan and Hong-Kong
  • "Orange" countries present mild risks
  • "Red" countries present risks and include among others the United States and Russia.
  • "Scarlet Red" countries is a new category representing high risk countries such as South Africa.

Entry conditions from South Korea to France

  • No negative PCR or antigenic test result needed for people who have a health pass recognized by the EU.
  • PCR or antigenic test after arrival is not mandatory but can be asked at the airport.
  • Not need of imperative travel reason to enter the country.
  • No quarantine required.
  • These entry conditions are valid for all accompanying minors of travelers

Health pass for French expats

 

French expats that are fully vaccinated abroad with a European Medicines Agency-approved vaccine (Pfizer, Janssen, Moderna, AstraZeneca…) are able to apply online and receive a QR code to serve as a health pass via the mobile app TousAntiCovid or printed document. This procedure is also available for spouses and children of French nationals.

You can ask for a vaccine equivalence for health pass if you match the following conditions:

  • You have French nationality, or other dependant of a French national
  • You are vaccinated with a vaccine approved by the European Medicines Agency for more than:
    • 4 weeks after a single dose vaccination
    • 7 days after a two doses vaccination
    • 7 days if you already had COVID-19 and recovered from it (in that case only, one dose of vaccine is necessary)
  • If you were not vaccinated in the following countries which are already entitled for getting the European digital COVID certificate: Member states of the European Union, Andorra, Island, Liechtenstein, Monaco, US (England and Wales only), Switzerland.

You can apply through this portal : https://www.demarches-simplifiees.fr/commencer/passe-sanitaire-francais-de-l-etranger with the following documents:

  • Vaccination certificate which clearly shows the type of vaccine you got
  • An ID (passport, ID card)
  • Proof of residence overseas

Health Pass for non-EU residents

 

Non-EU residents can request a health pass if they are vaccinated with a vaccine approved by the European Medicines Agency for more than:

  • 4 weeks after a single dose vaccination
  • 7 days after a two doses vaccination
  • 7 days if you already had COVID-19 and recovered from it (in that case only, one dose of vaccine is necessary)

In order to get your health pass you will need:

  • Your valid passport
  • Your original vaccination certificate (paper only) mentioning your names, date of birth, date of vaccination, type of vaccine and country of vaccination
  • A fee of up to 36 euro can be requested

The health pass can be delivered in a number of approved pharmacies spread on the French territory.
