The FKCCI held a new session of its HR & Compliance Committee on October 29, 2025, gathering HR professionals and legal experts to explore two crucial topics for companies operating in Korea: employment law updates and recruitment trends.
The event opened with welcoming remarks from Mr. Julien Herveau, Country Lead Partner at Forvis Mazars Korea and President of the HR & Compliance Committee, who highlighted the committee’s objectives to share regulatory updates and exchange best practices among members.
In the first presentation, Ms. Eunjee Kim, Senior Attorney at Dentons Lee, provided a comprehensive overview of Korea’s evolving labor landscape under the new administration of President Lee Jae-myung. She discussed the major policy changes introduced by the administration, including updates to working conditions, employee protections, and various types of leave entitlements, reflecting a broader shift in Korea’s employment framework.
The session continued with Mr. Philippe Tirault, Managing Partner at DHR Global, who discussed the latest recruitment trends in Korea, drawing on recent employee opinion surveys. He underlined the growing importance of employer reputation in attracting and retaining talent, stressing the need for companies to align their values and workplace culture with evolving employee expectations.
An engaging Q&A session concluded the morning, allowing participants to share experiences and insights on HR compliance and talent management in a fast-changing environment.
