The FKCCI successfully held the FoodTech Conference

The FKCCI, in partnership with KOAT, successfully hosted the FoodTech Conference on July 16 at COEX as part of the official AFPRO 2025 program. This event brought together key voices from the industry to share insights on innovation, intellectual property, and global market expansion.

The FKCCI was pleased to welcome two distinguished speakers:

🔹 Vincent Girard, French Patent Attorney at Plasseraud IP, provided strategic guidance on how to protect innovation and navigate the European intellectual property landscape. He underscored France’s role as a major logistics hub and gateway to the wider European market, and highlighted that intellectual property is essential, not only to safeguard innovation, but also to build long-term company value and inspire investor confidence. For companies eyeing European expansion, he stressed the need to act early: IP protection and regulatory compliance must be embedded from the outset to ensure successful market entry.

🔹 Gigi Jung, Head of Business & Strategy at MYCEL, shared the company’s inspiring journey into the French premium market with CELMURE, its flagship mycelium-based biomaterial offering luxury-grade quality and 98% biodegradability as a sustainable alternative to animal leather. MACEL develops high-performance biodegradable materials grounded in the philosophy of “Regeneration Beyond Sustainability”, a vision that seeks not only environmental responsibility, but true ecological restoration. Drawing from MYCEL’s market experience, Jung emphasized that French buyers value strong brand storytelling and a clear philosophy. MYCEL’s success, she noted, lies in its deep understanding of local expectations and its agile, tailored approach to the market, critical factors in building trust with partners.

As a bridge between France and Korea, the FKCCI remains committed to fostering bilateral cooperation and supporting innovative cross-border ventures in emerging industries such as FoodTech.
